Q: What to do when Ex tells my son I'm a bad mom based on my past?

A:

I don't know if anything can be done to fix the past and what has already transpired. I think all you can do is be the best mom from here on out. The ex can say all he want but actions speak louder than words.

I read a quote the other day that might help. It goes, "Don't quack like a duck, soar like an eagle." - Ken Blanchard.

Do not be anything that you ex says about you based on past or just whatever he can come up with. (You don't even see him anymore, how does he know?) He says you're a bad person. Ok.... don't be. And just because you made not so good decision back then does not mean you have to make more bad decisions tomorrow.

Kids are smart and they learn more by watching following the steps before them - more than hearing or anything else. Let your steps be a clear and straight path regardless of what is said and done by another. Soar above your ex and just do your best to not fulfill his wishes or perceptions of you. We cannot control his actions, but we have full rights to our very own.

Best wishes,

J
