SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KCBS) - A Sacramento Superior Court Judge ruled today that the wording of Proposition 8 to “eliminate (the) right to same-sex couples to marry” was worded fairly.
Set to appear on California's November ballot, proponents of the proposition are angered at what they feel appears to be prejudice wording.
“Now their making it sound that we’re taking something away from them. We’re not taking anything away from them. They’re the ones taking marriage away from us,” stated Todd Braun, one of the propositions supporters who protested the ruling outside of the Sacramento County Courthouse this afternoon.
Attorney General Jerry Brown, who wrote the title and summary, feels the wording fairly describes the proposition, and was pleased with Judge Frawley’s decision.
