No First Amendment Rights for Conservative Students

Rights... we all say we have them and we all say we deserve them. So what is one to do when one side stifles the other side's right to speak? What happens to that right that was suppressed? Is it less important because it is less popular? Be careful to not give your right away to speak. Fight for your rights... sounds cliche... but if you don't do anything as your rights are slowly taken away... you will soon have nothing to take back.

'"I watched an amazing video on YouTube of a University of Wisconsin sophomore and student senator, Roderick King, knocking over 4000 white crosses that “Pointers for Life,” a pro-life club, obtained permission to place on campus grounds. The display was meant to symbolize the 4,000 unborn babies who are aborted each and every day in the United States of America.

So far, no disciplinary action whatsoever has been taken against Mr. King, and the student government has decided to put the issue off until next semester….uh…that’s in the Fall. I guess they figure we’ll all forget about it and they don’t have to punish one of “their own.” Whom do I mean by that?

People have the right to abort the child in them, others should have the right to speak for the child at the very least. Protestors are there in support of gay marriage meeting with the opposition. It is America and it is one thing that makes out country great.

But I just couldn't help but notice how people are okay with just hearing one side... just okay with one agenda on the table and not open to alternatives. "People by nature intend and do the best they can limited their personal experiences and scope in life brought by their exposure and interactions to the world around them." How great can you be when you lack the fundamentals to being your best?

People have become so complacent about things brought on by the spoon feeding of the media. Society has become so worried about political correctness that it has stifled its members the ability to think of who they are and what they stand for.

For example, our generation supposedly embraces "Individuality" and acceptance. Do we really? The people that knocked down the crosses sure did not. People say they want to be a unique individual. Do we really? Are we not afraid to reveal parts of us in fear of being shunned, the object of non-conformity. How unique are you when you are nothing more than the output of popular culture by the stuff you have, the debt you're in, the clothes that you wear, the music you listen to, the foods you eat, and the way you live your life is no different that millions of others? We have been plugged into a mindset yet live otherwise.

Heard about the allegory of the frog in water over a fire? First, it's nice and cool... and then warm. Just perfect... He drifts into sleep. It then leads to his death without realizing it til too late. Don't be that frog.
